Show and Tell - A Book of Inspiration

This week's Show and Tell Saturday over at Homesteader's Heart is all about sharing a book that has inspired you as a person.
This was a no-brainer for me, it's Shane Claiborne's The Irresistible Revolution: Living as an Ordinary Radical which made me change my way of thinking about many things. It was funny and easy to read, was informational - I had to break out my highlighter, and it has changed me.

His message of simplicity is a great one in this age of materialism. Although doing everything his way would not work for us and I don't agree with all that he says, many of his ideas have hit home. It certainly does challenge you. If a book can do that, I believe it was a good choice!

  1. That sounds interesting. I've read some books that you kind of had to pick and choose some highlights in it but ultimately really inspired me in the end. Thanks for sharing.

  7. I am a lover of God's Word. I also write Bible studies for Moms so much of my reading falls to commentaries and study books. One of books I have read recently on living the Christian life is by Lisa Harper and entitled "Relentless Love." I highly recommend it.

Thanks for stopping by my site. I blog to encourage women in the fine art of Christian mothering. I hope you will stop by often and grab a dose of encouragement. Blessings.

  12. I had to go take a shower and read the Bible and the Constitution when I got done reading this book. It changed me for the best in terms for how I think about materialism, but when it comes to capitalism he's way off.
