Aloha Friday - Lime in the coconut?

"In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response."

So head over to her site, An Island Life and answer her question but while you are here you might as well answer mine:

I have a tree full of persian limes.....now what? Any suggestions for lime based recipes?
I can only make so much limeade (I don't even drink sweet stuff) and my Lime Basil Talapia is good but not too often. I will freeze some at the end of the season but what should I do with it now?

Thanks! Enjoy your weekend~

  2. um ... go to www.tasteofhome.com and type in lime. I bet it comes up with a lot of fun recipes. Personally, I've never used a real lime in cooking, except to squeeze on fish, or make a mojito. Maybe I haven't lived enough.

  3. Sour cream lime pie. Google sour cream lemon pie and substitute lime for lemon. Yum.

  8. CUTE video!! I use lime a lot as an accompaniment to many different things. We squeeze it on our taco salads (which we eat at least 1-2 times a week), on cucumbers, and stuff like that. I also make homemade guac, bean and corn salsa (which has quite a bit of lime in it), and that sort of thing. Here is another extremely delicious recipe: http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/2009/06/05/take-it-outside/. I took it to a potluck with friends, and it was a HUGE hit! If all else fails, you could send some my way! :-)

  9. I don't really know anything about cooking with limes so I'm pretty useless. But I do have a giveaway on my blog if you wanna check it out!

  14. Sorry this is quite redundant, but Key Lime Pie is my answer. Of course it can also be used in salsa, guacamole, and various Mexican recipes.

  15. Ooh, I bet you could do some sort of coconut-lime ice cream as well, maybe using coconut milk. That would be reeeeaaaallly yummy!

  16. Key lime pie was my first answer also. I'd also create some marinades using lime for either beef or chicken.
